This is a great feeder series for young drivers and is a perfect starting Championship for my introduction to US racing.
This series is now sanctioned by INDYCAR/Dan Andersen promotions. Andersen promotes and runs all series of the Mazda Road to Indy (USF2000, Pro Mazda and Indy Lights) and also The Mazda Road to 24. The Global MX-5 Series joined the IndyCar Series at:-
Circuit of the Americas, Barber Motorsports Park, Road America, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Portland International Raceway and Monticello Motor Club.
“Our intention with the Global MX-5 Cup platform from the beginning was to attract an international audience and customer base that would see the value in this opportunity to grow their sports car racing career with Mazda. Michael, with all of his open-wheel success, saw Global MX-5 Cup as exactly that”.
